APHRODISIACS INFLUENCE THE EMOTIONAL SPHERE AND INCREASE LIBIDO

An aphrodisiac is a substance that enhances or helps stimulate passion and sexual arousal. There are a number of essential oils that have the properties of aphrodisiacs to influence the emotional sphere and increase libido. These oils, either separately or in mixtures, are used in aromatherapy for the recovery of harmony in family relations and in cases of impotence or frigidity.
Aphrodisiac essential oils can be identified in three categories:
1. Soothing, uplifting and enhancing libido (ylang-ylang, neroli, patchouli, rose and clary sage).
2. Having hormonal effects (jasmine and sandalwood).
3. Direct stimulation (cardamom, cedar, cinnamon, black pepper – use very cautiously in small quantities!).
