Methods of Application of Aromatherapy for Hair Care

Many essential oils contain natural active components that favorably affect the condition of both normal and problem hair, support or normalize the hair roots and condition the scalp, improve the hair structure, nourish the scalp and condition hair. Such means are used for preventive purposes of normal hair, for hair conditioning, and for oily hair treatment and conditioning.

METHODS OF APPLICATION

A. The addition of essential oil(s) in the shampoo, mask, conditioner, etc. in a ratio of 1-3% (15 ml basics 3-9 drops of mix of essential oils). Often used for conditioning rather than for treatment. You can also use a few drops on your hair brush to use for a natural hair conditioning as well as adding a pleasant smell to support the body, mind and spirit.
Blends of essential oils for conditioning for any type of hair (without oil-base)
1. equal parts of oil of rosemary, chamomile, cedar, clary sage and jasmine absolute
2. in a 2:1 ratio of lavender essential oil and peppermint (check out the recipe for allergens since peppermint may cause skin irritation)
OR pick oils for a blend in accordance with the type of hair taking into account the recommendations on the use of essential oils at the end of this article.
ATTENTION: Coniferous essential oil (pine, cypress, juniper) and citrus (orange, lemon, mandarin, lime, petitgrain) should be used with caution, as their components can react with components of readymade shampoos.
To circumvent this problem there are many recommendations for the preparation of the foundations of your own shampoo: add 60 ml of water and half a teaspoon of oil (jojoba, avocado or olive) to 120 ml liquid soap. Add essential oil or blend of essential oils of your choice. You are welcome to experiment but first prepare a couple of blends using existing recipes and then decide if they are suitable for you.

B. Revitalizing mask for hair before shampooing.
The mask can be done using a small amount of oil base in accordance with the type of hair. The oil can be warmed up a little so it feels pleasant to the scalp.
Course of treatment
Every day or every other day for total of 10-15 times. Support the regime, use once a week. The mask can be applied on both dry or wet hair. With your fingertips rub the mask into the scalp and hair, cover with a plastic bag and tighten around the head with a towel. Leave on the hair for about an hour. Rinse with warm water and shampoo as usual. The addition of egg yolk works well to soften and add shine to hair.
